Recs are pretty good, with a couple stellar ones, and I've been told my essay is superb. I'm half Italian and half Mexican, if that makes any difference. Also, if you have any suggestions of other schools that would be matches, I'd really appreciate it!

@wildcat394957 How well do you think I’d fit in at NU? I’m very liberal and an activist. I’m from SF and am part of a rock band…and my boyfriend and I sort of resemble toned down versions of Courtney Love circa 1991 and Kurt Cobain. What do you think? I’m also very passionate but can be a bit abrasive.

@MissWorld7 I like your style - what instrument do you play? The atmosphere at NU is generally liberal and I am confident you will be able to develop a strong social circle and find people who care about the same issues you do. One of the things that surprised me most when I arrived on campus is how relatively apolitical the campus is. While the student body is definitely left-leaning, there was not as much political engagement or activism as I had thought there would be. While it may sound trite, the student body is diverse enough that many different personalities can thrive.

@wildcat394957 Thanks! I play bass, and I sing. I was just wondering, because as I’ve toured I’ve definitely encountered some more conservative schools that, while very nice, would not be the right place for me.
