thank you!! but my SAT is 2040 lol(:
anyone else?

lol…still here…still looking for answers):

Work on getting your gpa up, you can always involve yourself in more leadership activities, and aim for ah 4 or 5 on the AP tests

Your GPA is a little bit low, but you have great SATs. I think you will get into Hofstra,UPitt and Rutgers for sure. Chance me on my post!

thanks for answering (: anymore tips? like what kind of activities could i do at this point to stand out more>

You are aware that most of these schools (if not all) superscore, right? Meaning they take the best individual scores for each part of the SAT. So for you, it would be 660 CR 760 M 690 W, for a total of 2110.

Is that GPA weighted or underweight? It’s a bit low, but you’re taking hard classes which is good, and may compensate for your GPA. You should be fine for Bing, Hofstra, Stony Brook, Temple, and Rutgers. I don’t know about the other schools.

bump, thanks for all the answers so far!! i just want a few more opinions on what more i should do at this point (: does doing cty help at all? cus its reaaaally expensive

The colleges are going to wonder about your GPA-SAT correlation. They might think to themselves “why does this student have a 3.3 gpa but a 2110 SAT score?” The GPA is below the norm for that SAT score. But if you have extenuating circumstances for the GPA-mention them. If you have an upward trend throughout high school, that’s better. But if your school discloses class rank, and you are in the top 25-30 percent, then that shows them that you still try hard and are doing better than most of your classmates. I would recommend, since you can’t do much about extracurriculars now, to get very friendly with your teachers and guidance counselor since they will be writing your recommendations. If you are an in-state New York-er ( I am) then you might know that Stony Brook and Binghamton are becoming very selective, especially for in-state students, since they want more out-of-state students, who have to pay more. Do you have any honors/science-related awards? If they offer it, you might wanna do an interview, unless you don’t interview well. So Binghamton would be a match/reach. Stony brook a low reach. Upitt, hofstra, and temple would be matches. and i don’t know much about the rest-sorry.

You are definitely in at Rutgers, Temple, Pitt, and La Salle. I am also a junior, and I will most likely be applying to those 4 schools too! However, I am not familiar with the other schools.

I highly suggest that you apply for the Christian Brothers’ Scholarship and the Community Service scholarship at La Salle.

Info at: [La Salle University : Student Financial Services](Scholarships • Financial Aid)

Good Luck!

bump! anyone have suggestions on what i can do about my lack of ecs over the summer? I know strong ECs are not something you can stack up over the summer but any programs that stand out?

bump…!!!

You have a good chance at all of the schools you listed

Might want to have a reach or two
