<p>I know when it comes down to it, my gpa will be my gimp leg. I’ve been working hard to make other aspects of my app solid, but I feel that the gpa is the real “meat and potatoes” of an applicant…lol. and all the other factors are side dishes? Ahh I don’t know when to stop.</p>

<p>Amherst is a reach for everyone. Make sure you have some match and safeties on your list. I think I know the HS where you attend, and it does send lots of kids to the elites. They know how competitive it is. Make sure you essays are stellar. They really matter a lot at Amherst. That said, your GPA is a bit low, and with Amherst having overenrolled last year, I think that the percentages of acceptances may go down next year. Think positively, and Good luck!</p>
