I had some awards about muisc and art.

I believe you’ll get in! You have strong stats.

You should be a fit for UCI, but nursing major is very competitive, so make sure you put in an un-impacted major as your alternative, so you at least get in as that, should you not get into nursing.

You can always transfer into nursing later, as long as you try and do well.

quick question:

Do you know if your Cell and Molecular class transfers as BioSci 93 or your Human Heredity transfers as BioSci 97?

I ask because that could end up helping you out tons

Cell and Molecular is 5 units from a community college
Human Heredity is 3 units.
How to find out which classes in UCI that be transferable from which classes in CC?

@MonkeyBoy
I just checked a UC system website. I learned none of the courses that I took from CC can be transfered to BioSci 93, nor 97. Saddly, I did not know this UC website before. I wonder if my AP Bio can do anything for me. Do you have a link about AP credits in UCI-Nusing? I should have taken the Principal Biology - Cell and Molecular in order to waive some courses, however this course is usually full before high school student can take.

assist.org would be the place to check

Not sure if that is what you used, if not what CC did you attend?

@MonkeyBoy
I took Cell and Molecular at Ohlone, Human Heredity at Mission (Santa Clara).
I wonder if there is a way to find out what course in which UC campus that "Cell and Molecular " can transfer to. assist.org can help only if you know where you want the classes to transfer to.

So I was able to match up BioSci 15 Human Heredity from Mission with the following courses at the following UCs

first off it appears you will get 3 units of UC transferable credit regardless of the UC you attend

BUT! the class will match up and equal the following classes at the following UCs

If the UC is not listed it is because I could not find an equal

Davis -> Mol&CB Molecular & Cell Bio 10 --Intro Human Heredity

Riverside -> Biol Biology 34 --Human Heredity & Evolution

UCSD -> Bild Biology Lower Division 20 --Human Genetics in Modern Society

UCB -> fulfills the evolution requirement for psych major

For Ohlone did you take

Biol 101a & Biol 101b principles of biology molecular and cellular?

if you only took 101a depending on your plans, which school you most favor what majors you most favor it might be especially helpful if you completed biol 101b since many UC package their lower div bio courses together and the combo of biol 101a and biol 101b would often satisfy a trio of courses but with just 101a you only often satisfy 1 of the 3 core courses.

For UCI specifically biol 101a would satisfy biosci 93 which is the intro bio class. Biol 101b equates to biosci 94 but since nurse sci majors don’t take biosci 94 taking biol 101b would seem like a waste. However, having said that if you could enlighten me more with thoughts on intended majors outside of nurse sci at UCI you may find biol 101b to be something worth looking into.

no, I took BIOT 105 Cell and Molecular in a summer.
BIOL 101A became only available in Fall, 101B then is usually avavilable in Spring.

Human Heredity that I took from Mission is BIOSC 015.

Which page wil list the required courses in Nursing Program?
[UCI Nursing](http://www.cohs.uci.edu/nursing/)
Can someone navigate me?

bioT 105 doesn’t seem to match up with any course required for the UCI nurse sci curriculum upon further investigating but you will get 4 UC transferable units so all is not lost. BUT! it will most likely not help you graduate any faster given the rigid nature of the the nurse sci class curriculum

[UCI Nursing](http://www.cohs.uci.edu/nursing/course_curriculum.shtml)

Here is a nice link outlining every class you will take over the 4 years and when you will take them.

My advice would be to find a course at a local CC that is equiv to BioSci 93 along with the standard freshman year genral chem series. That would really get you off to a nice start and if you pulled that off, you could start right in on BioSci 97 which is only offered in the fall quarter

Thanks junshik and MonkeyBoy!

I am not in college yet but trying to understand this GE/Elective credit things.

MonkeyBoy, about http://www.cohs.uci.edu/nursing/course_curriculum.shtml
you posted. It says Chem 1A, Psych 7A, BioSci 93 and one GE/Elective are for freshman in Fall. What does “GE/Elective” mean here? Does it mean that I can select one course as either a general education or an elective? But what are the list of classes that I can choose? For my ohlone BIOT 105, do you mean I can transfer this course as one of the GE or elective? AP Credit can be “elecive only” in the pdf file that junshik posted. But how many GEs and elecive courses are needed in order to graduate from Nursing?

@MonketBoy, you are right. I should try to take a CC course to waive BIOSCI 93.
