EC’s wise, where do you think I stand? All publication and Kenya issues aside.
Great list if you are good with GSU. If not, then no you need a likely. I’m not as confident about UGA as others. Have you given us a computed UGA GPA
I know, thanks to @momsearcheng , there are many schools with a LECOM guarantee.
Also budget concerns for eight years of school ?
You got into Augusta Bs md ?
It’s the BS/MD programs at all that are highly competitive. Sorry, they just are.
I’m not saying that they’re not. Im saying that I can easily get into those schools and attend there even if I get rejected from their BSMD program.
I got into Augusta University. their BSMD program is a separate application due in December.
You didn’t list.
I chanced you for what you listed.
If you are ok with there, UAB, VCU and can afford etc then great but those schools weren’t on your initial list outside of bs/md
Btw you are a very good student. Lots of schools would want you but maybe not the tippy top.
I actually have heard similar stories to yours although not in the thousands which seems unrealistic. In TN lots of hsers go on mission trips and I hear a lot about medical procedures that scares me these kids would do. But apparently they do.
Does this mean that I am suffering from success?
I am not sure what you mean by this…but I will say…you are a great applicant for many colleges. Just not the reaches on your current list…in my opinion.
What does that mean?
Your ECs are not going to make up for your SAT score and GPA. They just aren’t. If that is what you are hoping.
If you are happy with your safety, and maybe UGA, then apply to the rest which are reaches. 90% or more do not get accepted…and many have stronger GPA and SAT scores than you do.
Whoa. Go out to run errands and the thread explodes. Will catch up, but OP listen to what people are telling you.
Nova Southeastern may consider you.
Here’s a list of LECOM pathway schools for the 4+4 BA/DO program:
UAB BA/MD program (EMSAP) only accepts 10 student/year, with strong preference given to Alabama residents. The deadline for application is Nov 15.
VCU’s BA/MD application deadline was Nov. 1
Not to put words in your mouth but you are saying for BS/DO, not just undergrad admission…correct ?
Year, you list experience in many fields. It is a big red flag…
Nova is a BS/DO program. You get to do all 7 or 8 years at that place. Any applicant should also look at where they place students for rotations…that is an important component.
The LECOM program has partner undergrads with the pathway (guaranteed) to LECOM. There are a lot of partner undergrads. The student goes to a traditional undergrad but with a pathway to LECOM. @momsearcheng can better explain.
For LECOM, it’s important to apply to and be accepted at a partner undergrad.
Your head got big for what you accomplished. Yes.
I’m not doubting you but AOs will.
When I hear the quantity I say not even a real dr does that. Now I don’t know the terminology but either will an AO
But the most important by far will be the UW GPA, weighted at schools like UGA - (what’s yours given how they weight) and test.
And I’m still concerned with your LORs. I looked at one school. First one I looked at. Did you look at all ? Here’s what they say. Health, to me, doesn’t count.
All applicants must submit two teacher letters of recommendation. They should come from teachers who taught you in a core academic area (English, math, science, social sciences, global/foreign language, or visual performing arts).
I noticed this too. Hoping you have two recommendations from these types of teachers. Otherwise, acceptance to the LECOM partner schools might be a problem. You need to check the undergrad partner schools for what they want!
You are so wrong on this post, as well as your others. Quite a few of us are parents who have been through the med school gamut. You can choose to listen or not. Good luck.
By health I mean healthcare science - it’s a pathway at our school and it counts as a science and anatomy credit.
