@karan11295 : Even I am an Indian. Did you write to them to schedule an interview? I have already written to them but haven’t heard anything yet due to winter break. May be I will get to know in next few days?

Probasketball, I don’t think his SATs are off the charts for Bates. My daughter(admitted ED) got the exact same. Since 50% of applicants don’t submit SATs, i think the 50% percent who do tend to be 2100 and above.

You’re right; “off the charts” was probably the wrong phrase --but the SAT scores are definitely very high and I would go as far to say that, assuming a decent GPA, virtually no one with that SAT score is rejected.

I don’t know how much financial need weighs on decision-making. Bates is NOT need-blind school like many of its peers (because their own resources are much lower). I would hope it wouldn’t keep you out (and I don’t think it will).

Again, I could be off here, but I do think that Bates is a school that attempts to build a community, and takes multiple factors into consideration like rigor of course load, interview extracurricular etc. Many people have commented on their generous fa once you are admitted, although I am not sure how this plays out for international students.

Your SAT scores are only a little over the average for Bates but your application looks very good. As far as financial aid, it will not have any say in your admissions. Bates is a “need blind” school meaning that they accept or deny you solely based off of your application. In fact, they do not even look at your financial need until your admitted. The office of admissions and financial aid are completely separate. Bates is committed to meeting 100% of your financial need.
