Alright I have an interesting APP, bear with me while I establish a couple of things
- freshman year grades = 4b 3C sophomore year grads= 4b 3a junior year grads=Straight As, 3 APs taken.
So I guess that qualifies me as one of those kids that had a stead increase in grades, which colleges really like. However the trade off is a bad GPA and an even worser class rank. Although I have a really awesome story that goes along with it that will translate into a great essay. I am a really passionate learner who enjoys going to school and enjoys the classroom environment. I also have academic passions in History and English. Im not the type of kid that just goes to school hates it, comes home and studies for 9 hours and gets straight As, but has no interest in learning just getting the high grade. I think I can weave that attribute i have to my advantage. - I have really good extra curriculars. I was nominated by my school to be on a school board with the heads of my school (IE: head of guidance, principal, etc) that advises the U.S congressman in my county in the state of pennsylvania… I volunteered to make speeches when my guidance counselors visit the parents of 8th graders on “transition to the high school” nights. I am a really good public speaker and I think thats another thing that will help. Along with that, I am captain of the fencing team and run classes at both my high school and my club on thursdays and fridays respectively for kids up to grade 8. I fence all year round making me a full year athlete.
- my standardized test scores aren’t the greatest, with 2050 on the sat 1 and two sat 2 scores of 700 on U.S history and Language and Composition.
- I know Browns fencing coach and he will be requesting me. This is not going to help as much as one might think, but it will still be a great boon.
- Lastly, and probably the most important thing that I posses that will give me a good chance at getting into Brown, is that currently six people over the course of three generation have gone to Brown making me a quadruple legacy candidate. On top of that, my dad recently donated 5 digits worth of money and plans on doing the same next year when I apply early decision.

Wow this was long, if you would like to tell me what you think about my app, I would really appreciate any feedback.
