Chance me. Jesus would.

Hi guys, I am a Canadian senior high school student planning to attend an American university. I want to major in electrical engineering and minor in computer science. Here are some of my stats.

SAT:
Critical Reading 640
Writing 680
Math 680
total 2000 (will retake aiming for 2150)
Planning to take SAT math and physics subject test

In the enriched program in Vincent Massey (If that means anything in America)
School average 82% (I plan to raise it to 88%)
AP Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP Java

Will have over 100 volunteer hours by admission time
EC:
Debate Team
Piano (5 years)
Karate (6 years)
Squash (2 years)
Science Olympiad Team
Robotics Team

Here are some of my aims:
Rice
University of Michigan
Carnegie Mellon University
John Hopkins University
Cornell University
Northwestern University

Of course these are just some of the good engineering schools. If you know any other universities that I could get into please mention it. I don’t need financial aid and prefer to go to an urban university. Thanks :)

michigan - reach
cornell - very high reach
northwestern - reach

do you really count all your volunteer hours? just wondering. i don't.

I forgot to mention I have a green card.

i'm atheist =0

i forgot to mention i care.

sorry, sick sense of humor today.

Rice - Reach
University of Michigan - don't know
Carnegie Mellon University - reach
John Hopkins University - reach?
Cornell University - reach
Northwestern University - reach

You need more matches and safeties.

I think your SAT is too low for all those schools, especially for engineering.

what would be some matches and safeties for my current SAT score.

Purdue and Illanois are good engineering schools that are not hard to get into.

^^^^ def your best bets! actually better than most of the schools you listed.

i'd say in at UMich and UIUC, and purdue ofc. full paying international + state + good academics = win, bluntly put (except for a few of the calif unis).
median SAT UMich was 1390 last year, gpa 3.9. you probably know that.

rest are reachy (rice) to very reachy (cornell).
