I’m a female South Korean, please chance me for Brown University.
SAT (Old): 2280 superscore (CR: 790, M: 770, W: 720)
SAT2: Math2C 800, US History 760
AP Eng Lit 4, AP Psychology 5
GPA: Uncertain
ECs:
Member of the Lacrosse Team
Co-Editor in Chief of the Student Newspaper
Member of the Student Council
I have a few other clubs, but they’re not well known/recognizable.
I’m also in the IB Programme. (I’m hoping for an IB score of around 38+/45, but that depends)
HLs: History, English A Language and Literature, Biology
SLs: Japanese B, Math, Korean A Literature
I’m also considering AP Eng Lang, AP Bio, and SAT2 Eng Lit next year. I have 1 year of high school left, and I was hoping for some advice on other things that I could do regarding APs, SATs, ECs…? I would appreciate other university recommendations, major recommendations, anything that you could write will be helpful! I’m thinking of English Literature as my hopeful major.
Without a gpa, guessing your chances is even more of a fool’s errand than it already is. How many students are in your HS? What is your approximate rank? If you don’t know where you stand in the class (i,e, near the very top), Brown is likely a high reach for you. It’s unclear, are you an international?
I’m afraid that I am an international student, I know that it’s highly unlikely chance, but do you have any advice?
You didn’t answer the rest of my questions so I don’t have much advice to give you. Hopefully, you are full pay. You not knowing your gpa or approximately where you stand in your class is odd. Good luck with everything!
You will not apply to college unitl next year. You need to find out if Brown will still take the old SAT by then. I am doubtful. Without GPA, difficult to say, but yiur test scores are good. It doesn’t matter, Brown is a high reach for everyone.
I personally do not know my gpa or my rank because my high school combines the IB Programme with the Korean education system. There are many complications in the ranking process, but I was hoping for advice on perhaps other universities that I could be looking at or maybe ideas on how to make my ECs better.
