Chance Me: Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY

Hi! I'm just looking for a second opinion. Marist has been my first-choice school since freshman year. I'm about to finish submitting my application.
My dream is to get into Marist, however I'm also in a pool of applicants that are eligible to receive a four-year room/board and tuition scholarship for Technology.
Should I get in, my major is declared to be in Information technology and Systems with a concentration in Systems.

Those courses are taken at a Career and Technology Center. They take half my day for a full year. My schedule has been incredibly restricted because of taking them, however I do now have my CompTIA A+ Certification and will be going for the CCENT 1 next month, then the CCNA in May.

Honors:

I'm an active participant in SkillsUSA, and have placed second at state level for a Job Skills Demonstration. Will be speaking again in competition this year.

I am a spokesperson for my Career and Technology Program and have traveled around Frederick County to promote it to potential future students.

I am a Girl Scout Ambassador, have traveled to England and participated in multiple fundraising/charity events (2001-present).

I volunteer as a Church Administrative Assistant, where I create visual aids for each service, update the member database and set up for each service. (Oct 2011-present)

I work at our town's local newspaper as a teen columnist, every two months I submit a 750-1000 word article. (August 2009-present)

I am on the school varsity swim team as a second-year swimmer, as a 50yd and 500yd freestyle swimmer.

You should have no trouble getting in and you’ll probably get some sort of scholarship. I’d say low match or possibly even safety.

Strong applicant for both. Good luck!

Marist: Low match

Personally, having 3 low matches is just fine in a college list, perhaps even 2, but do you have a backup plan?

@Catria

I’ve been accepted to Becker College in Worcester, MA and have applied to Salisbury University, MD and Wilson College, PA.

I have two other extraordinarily high-reach colleges (thank my family for that…) on my list but I truly don’t feel an appeal to either of them.

Also, can you tell my why I’m a low match? What could I do to get better? Esp. if I want tp transfer.

A low match is a school you have a great shot for but not the best shot.

Salisbury: Safety
Wilson: Low match

@Catria

Oh ok. Thank you for clearing that up!

Why do I not have the best shot though? What else do I need?

Marist is a great bet for you, I’m hoping to get in there myself in a few weeks haha!

Fast Update:
Recently, I have joined my church’s Choir.
Swim season ended. I swam competitively at Counties and Regional. Awards will be handed out next week to swimmers, I think I have a good shot at a letter.
I have presented a research project to the NASA scientists at Goddard Space Center to very positive feedback, and some helpful suggestions.
I will finalize my CTC course (Networking) with a solid A. Right now, I have a B in AP Language and Pre-Calculus. My English teacher says it is possible for me to receive an A, and admits her class is insanely difficult.
