(My school counts A-'s as 3.7s. I know some other schools don't do this)
Taking the most rigourous courses available to me every year</p>

- 270+ hours of volunteering at El Camino Hospital. Currently on the El Camino Junior Auxillary Board (7-8 students who manage activities and problems for the junior volunteers. Fundraisers, etc)
- Research Internship at Vanderbilt Medical Center for 6 weeks in the speech and hearing sciences
- Founder and President of a small-nonprofit. Working with two other non-profit organizations: Youth Vision Uganda and Omprakash. Have aided the building of a school in Uganda and provided various supplies to schools in India. Not on a huge scale, but we did it as a background hobby
- Participated in Stanford Health Advocacy Summer camp where I learned about health advocacy. Have started a small branch with 2 others under our service club to promote the idea of health advocacy. Leader of the branch
- Shadowed several surgeons and doctors on a trip to India and during my research internship.
- Science Bowl team member for all 4 years
- Volunteer at diamond care nursing home for the elderly</p>

<p>My recs from my counselor and bio teacher should be very good. I'm getting one from my history which should be decent at min. I'm also getting one from my research internship and she said she would be honored to give me a rec, so i'm happy abt that. </p>

<p>Can you give me an estimate of where my matches, reaches and safties might be?</p>

<p>Some of the colleges I'm applying to are brown, duke, stanford, UCs, etc</p>

<p>Thanks so much for your help!</p>

<p>You’re a pretty strong applicant, but there isn’t anything eye-popping on your application, which is almost a requirement at the top ivies. Depending on your background and ethnicity, among others</p>

<p>brown - low reach
duke - high match
stanford - reach
Berkeley - match
UCLA - match
Other UCs - Safety</p>

<p>Hey Bubbles. Thanks for your help. Can you give me an example of what you would consider eye-popping to a top ivy? Also, do you think I have a shot of getting scholarships to colleges like USC? thanks a lot btw, I really appreciate it</p>

<p>Items that make you a real star include </p>

<p>-#1 Junior Chess player in the world
-Fulbright Scholar (Int’l Student)
-Extremely competitive internship, written a paper with a Nobel Prize winner
-Letter of recommendation from the President of the United States</p>

<p>Are any of those possible? haha</p>

<p>I guess they are possible, just highly unlikely  Can anyone else help me out?</p>

<p>You dont need those things to be accepted. Most people dont have such achievements, but we’re talking about increasing the chances to the level where one is reasonably assured of acceptance at one particular ivy.</p>

<p>For example, if Obama wrote you a letter of Rec, there would be no chance you would be denied to Harvard given that he was the president of the Law School at one time.</p>

<p>bumpppppppppp</p>

<p>can anyone else give me an opinion please?</p>

<p>Seriously? You’ll be fine. BuBBLES was being sarcastic (or so I’d hope).
Congrats on an outstanding academic and humanitarian record.</p>

<p>Thanks beatrizhb. Can anyone else chance me for these colleges?</p>

<p>Bubbles is another one of the lunatics that trolls this forum.</p>

<p>"-#1 Junior Chess player in the world

-Letter of recommendation from the President of the United States"</p>

<p>You have a good chance of getting into any of them</p>
