Thanks for anyone and everyone that posts something on here.

PS - I CHANCE BACK! ....good luck to everyone!

From as much as I’ve obsessed over BU and BC, it looks like your fine for BU, and grades seem good for BC, but maybe increase the SAT score a bit. (2000 would be about there I guess?)

You have a great shot everywhere. I would call BC, UCLA, WashU, and NYU slight reaches, but if you do well on your SAT retake, I would bet on you getting into at least 2 or 3 of those 4.

You’re a match for all, except UCLA will be a reach because their average SAT is more around the 2050+.
-NYU admissions is heavily based on which school/major you apply for. Stern, and anyone applying Pre-Med will have to have strong SAT’s and ACT’s, at least a 2050+ or 31. But NYU also heavily weights the essay so don’t be discouraged. I would still apply because you are a match if you look at their “averages”, but this can be misleading because within the averages they also include students who go to Tisch, who are allowed to have lower SAT’s because they also apply with an art portfolio/audition.

Thanks for the feedback so far!!! I really appreciate it!!!

Wash U is my number one choice but I feel like my stats don’t really compare with their caliber students for some reason. I don’t know if I’m just scared of the admission process or what. The other thing that worries me is if colleges see my 36 in math and 25 in reading…if they are going to be thrown off by that or not. Also, I would like to know if anyone of you guys have any tips on how to strengthen my application in anyway. Being a first generation helps I think but if you guys have anything else, I’d love to hear it! THANKSSSSS!!! :D

UCLA, WashU, and NYU are reaches because of your SAT score. Otherwise, you’re in at the rest of the schools on your list.

Bump…

I definitely disagree with ZooeyKing. I wouldn’t call WUSTL or NYU matches, but maybe not reaches either. Then again, I am one of the less-qualified chancers here, so take my opinion with a grain (or bucketful) of caution.

Well, SAT and ACT are a bit weak. I somewhat question the wisdom of retaking them too many times, but I think you would do well to try your hand on them again. Although it is getting a little late in the cycle. Your academics seem fine, and your ECs are a little on the weak side, but you do have some good awards. Being from Kansas will be a tiny bit of help, though. Erm…that’s just about it. I think it’s a solid lists of colleges to apply to. Shoot for the stars!

^Agreed. WUSTL is harder to get into than most people in this thread are saying it is.

I will admit that I’m not the most familiar with WUSTL, however, I am familiar with NYU and based on their “average” accepted applicant, you are a match. But I will reiterate that for NYU it really depends on what school you apply to and if it is Stern or a Pre-Med, then you are in a reach zone.

yeah thanks for the feedback everyone. i hate the reading part on the act as it brings me down every single time. hasnt failed yet. I’m also banking on me being a first generation to give me a little boost in the selection process. and i agree wustl is a hard school to get into but hey its only costing me $70 or so dollars to find out as there are no supplements lol. thanks so far everyone! :D
