Counselor Rec: Knows me extremely well, will be fantastic. 10/10

Where else are you applying (feel free to chance me for these if you so choose, but you don’t need to): Yale, Georgetown, Penn, Cornell, Tufts, William and Mary, NYU, GW, American

PLEASE CHANCE ME FOR BOTH ED AND RD AND TELL ME IF THERE’S A CONSIDERABLE DIFFERENCE IN MY CHANCES! Thanks so much! I will chance back if you leave a link.

You have fairly good chances all around. You have good test scores all around and your GPA for Sophomore and Junior year looks good. I’d say your biggest weakness is GPA but you Junior year was really good so I’d say its overlook able as your only main weakness. Regarding APs you’re definitely taking enough for your Senior year. I agree with your weakness that taking more APs earlier in HS might have helped but overall you’re still taking right amount. ED your chances will definitely be more favorable because your lower grades as an underclassman will be more easily over-looked. I’d say if you apply ED you can be fairly sure you’re getting in, whereas in RD you still have a good shot but you may not get in. If you’re absolutely sure NU is your top choice, you should apply ED for maximum overall admittance chances (like 33% ED vs 7% RD). Also so you know for MMSS you have to apply separately for admission into the program alongside your NU application. I took the same math classes (AP calc BC and Stats) this year and got in, and the admit rate is fairly high as long as you meet the math prerequisite requirements, but thats something to consider if you’re applying ED if thats the main major you want. Good luck!

I think your looking very good for NU. Your GPA and test scores won’t hold you back at any of the schools on your list with the exception of Yale. Additionally, the high upward trend in GPA helps a lot because it shows you are growing and maturing as a student and have the potential to be a scholar in college (I’m in a very similar situation as you in terms of rising GPA and this is what I’ve heard). Your EC’s and leadership are great, so that shouldn’t be a problem either. And, considering your letters of rec are great, you look like a solid applicant for all these schools except Yale and possibly UPenn, which are reaches for everyone except Pacific Islanders with perfect SAT scores that have cured cancer.

Here’s my chances for you:
Yale - reach
Georgetown - low reach
Penn - low reach
Cornell -
Tufts
William and Mary
NYU
GW
American

Thank you both! @orlandomagic98 I’ll chance you now

I’d say that ED maybe 60-75%, RD is really tough to predict because it is such a low acceptance. Maybe around 25-30 though which honestly is very high for northwestern… Care to chance me? Thanks

Please stop with comments like “very good chances.” It’s scrap shoot for everyone who is applying. There are thousands of applicants out there with the same stats or better

i think you have a really good chance (probably 75%)!! i’m not really sure how your school’s weighting system works for GPA’s, but it seems like you have strong grades and would have a good UW GPA (but i’m not sure they would calculate it for you). you also have really good ec’s which will help too. i wish you the best of luck!!
