Unless you do something stupid, very few RA’s will report you for being drunk. I’ve even seen campus police being very aware that people were drunk and not doing anything.

At UMD your body is not a container. If someone in power decides to search your dorm and you have alcohol in your possession, yes you will be written up, but the first time you will definitely not lose housing. You will not lose housing for coming back drunk, as no one will report it unless you get really sick. And if you get really sick and your also drunk friend calls for help, neither can get in trouble unless you are already on probation.

If you get an alcohol citation, no one’s telling your parents if you’re over eighteen.

This is completely different if someone is smoking pot. That will get you kicked out first time, but again, being high is not enough (there is no test to check) you have to possess something.

My warning is, under eighteen, tread carefully because your parents can be notified.

And to answer the OP’s question, if you’re over 21 they call no one, because it’s not illegal. If you’re over 18 they still call no one, but you can get in a little trouble, more if you do it more than once.
