Chance Me? OOS and URM. Will Chance Back!

Unless you do something stupid, very few RA’s will report you for being drunk. I’ve even seen campus police being very aware that people were drunk and not doing anything.

At UMD your body is not a container. If someone in power decides to search your dorm and you have alcohol in your possession, yes you will be written up, but the first time you will definitely not lose housing. You will not lose housing for coming back drunk, as no one will report it unless you get really sick. And if you get really sick and your also drunk friend calls for help, neither can get in trouble unless you are already on probation.

If you get an alcohol citation, no one’s telling your parents if you’re over eighteen.

This is completely different if someone is smoking pot. That will get you kicked out first time, but again, being high is not enough (there is no test to check) you have to possess something.

My warning is, under eighteen, tread carefully because your parents can be notified.

And to answer the OP’s question, if you’re over 21 they call no one, because it’s not illegal. If you’re over 18 they still call no one, but you can get in a little trouble, more if you do it more than once.

@bulletpima - Harvard and Yale? When did i mention that I was applying to either one of those schools? all I said/meant is that different college counselors/officers have also said that that experience is quite unique from the typical person, not that is helps me in getting into their school… and his ‘joke’ was referring to the situation with my brother. and im not being immature about anything.

@EuroAzn - whether fellow CCr’s dnt care whether im “unique” or not, colleges do. boarding school is not something that is ‘unique’ but it certainly isn’t something that a typical experience. And all that information was not intended to be a “hook” as you prematurely took it to be, but it was insight into the whole “personal experience that impacted you” essay prompt.

anyways, I’m done with this chancing thread. UMCP or not, I’ve gotten into better ranked schools so far, so I really dont care whether I get in here anymore.

There are some people on here who think they are better than everyone else. Proving how smart they are over the internet to strangers is a confidence boost for them.
