I’m a rising senior from Illinois hoping to major in History
3.51 Unweighted GPA, 3.85 weighted (16 Honors and 1 AP)
28 ACT (taking one more time hoping for a 29 or maybe even a 30)
I have one good recommendation letter from my US History teacher/basketball coach
Extracurriculars: 4 years of Baksetball and Track and Field (was a recognized scholar athlete in our cities sports conference), Broadcast Club Vice President(in club all 4 years, called football, girls basketball, volleyball and soccer), 2 years of “Link Crew” (one of 20 people chosen to run freshman orientation and other events for freshman throughout the year), 2 years in the NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 club, I would go to different middle schools and help run their “walkathon” fundraisers and organize volleyball and dodgeball and other events at my high school that promote healthy living, I was the powder puff coach last year for the junior girls and plan to do it this year again, I started my own business in my neighborhood where I help out retired couples when they go on vacation with taking care of all aspects of their houses, I also have done camp counseling at my high school and for the local park district at different times throughout the year for the past 3 years.
looks pretty good, try to take more AP’s next year to really boost up your chances.
Chances aren’t good. With average stats, the acceptance rate is 50%. The GPA is on the low side. Schools look at the unweighted GPA first, so it reduces your chances to around 30% for each school. It’s even more competitive for OOS.
