act score 34
however, i am planning to retake, get a 35, how much will that help?

i want to major in econ @ uchicago, how difficult is it?

So what do you think are my chances with good essays and similar sat's to my act's?
What do you think I need to work on?

Other random stuff + junk.
I am trilingual.
I skipped a grade in elementary.

An ACT score jump from 34 to 35 won’t do you any good. For all purposes, they’re equivalent.

You have a good academic background, with solid classes. Chicago likes that. However, it won’t push you across the line if your essays are average, so I would suggest concentrating on your essays as much as possible.

Rough chances? If you apply EA, high match. If you apply RD, then low-mid reach.

A lot of 36’s apply to Chicago, and many of them get rejected. Frankly, it won’t make you stand out at all.

Chicago would much rather have a 32 ACT student with great ECs and ambition than a 36 ACT who’s a bit too obsessed about standardized tests for his own good. Even when Chicago’s acceptance rate was higher, there were many students with 2400 SATs who would get rejected.
