Chance me or I unleash my Russian fury on you

Hey, y'all. So basically if you would chance me for Columbia (or any other school I guess) I would be ever so grateful! Also, if you actually got into Columbia or have some good reason as to why your response is probably valid, please indicate it!

6. the only other APs my school offers are biology, music theory, and statistics
7. intended major - neuroscience with a minor in French or double major in English and
Russian with a minor in French

Thanks so much! I know my stats aren't terribly impressive so please be realistic with me! Thanks again!

I’m not actually Russian though muahaha

Your stats are really, really impressive. I’m serious. You should be very proud of yourself :)

Having said that, the caliber of students applying to Columbia is similarly outstanding, but you’ll definitely stand out with unique and thoughtful essays.

Good luck!

I think Columbia would be a mid-tier reach for you (as it is for most students) due to the currently semi-weak SAT score and weak extracurriculars.

Keep the chances coming, people! Please…

I’m waiting…

Columbia is in your grasp!

Chance me back, please!!

Your GPA is perfect. Your SAT is high, but on the low side for columbia apps. You could definitely get in, but it’s still a reach.

Columbia: Reach (Columbia is reachable but get yourself matches and safeties…)

Thank you! For future commenters, if you can think of any matches that stick out to you that’d be appreciated

Really, really good applicant. If you could crack 2300 on your SAT, Columbia might just be a match. I think Columbia is a not a big reach at the present time, but an even better SAT score would make your profile that much more impressive. Not that a 2210 is anything to be ashamed about! What is your intended major?

^Well I think that since Columbia had a 7% acceptance rate, it’s probably a reach for even the brightest students.

Haha. Yeah, true unfortunately Achilles09. But still a really good app. I think you have a solid chance.

This file screams Tulane at the match level (it has strong neuroscience and French departments)

If you like Columbia you’d probably like NYU.

NYU: low match

But NYU may prove to be much more expensive than Columbia, especially if you ask for financial aid.

please chance me!

RedsFan17, I’m thinking either neuroscience or double major in English and Russian. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks for your help, Catria! I’m researching Tulane now :)

bumpy bumperstein

I, too, am also applying early to Columbia, and I must say, it looks like you’re impressive. If I’m fortunate enough to get in, I hope my fellow classmates have the level of accomplishments as you do, if you, for some reason, should not get in.

As of now, I think you stand a good chance of getting in (better than, for example, myself). The one thing against you is your semi-low test score, but that can easily be remedied.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1549053-columbia-ed-will-chance-back-within-12-hours.html
