I think you have a pretty good chance! When did you apply?

Thanks! I applied October 23rd but all my application materials werent in until November 2nd. How long more do you think it will take for me to get a decision? Few days? Weeks?

My son had similar stats but a weighted GPA of 96% and SAT scores in high 1200s. He applied to several of these schools for CS so I can tell you his results- accepted Rutgers and Stony Brook and denied at UCONN and Binghamton. Probably depends how much weight schools place on SAT v GPA but we did find that the CS major has a lower acceptance rate than some of the other majors. Umass Amherst also has a good CS program.

Thanks for the advice! I will definately look into UMass. Also are you from NY? And do you mind telling me his unweighted for a better idea? my school doesnt give weighted grades and my school uses the out of 100 scale would be very helpful. Thank you.

From NJ, so you probably have a better shot at Bing. I don’t know his unweighted gpa but it was probably in the 93 range.

Also, If you want a more technical school look into RIT. They offered a decent merit package.

I also recommend you look at RIT. We looked at all these schools, and applied to most. My S applied ED to RIT. UMASS will be a reach for you for CS major.

Yeah I wanted to apply to RIT too but it is a bit too far for me (5 hours). I am pretty much limited to a 3 hour radius from my parents. But thanks for the help! @blueskies12 @IY266
