Through what college did you apply for Data Science (it’s offered through different colleges)?
3.4 UW is a bit low but the 4.1 seems to indicate good rigor.
Can your parents afford to be full pay?

I applied via college of information science and technology.
Can my parents afford to full pay? It depends upon the amount.

Did you run the Net Price Calculator? If not, do so with them and discuss the results.
Parents should not take loans for their kids to attend college. You need to find colleges that are affordable based on your savings, their college savings, their income and how much can be diverted toward college costs. Add + 5.5K in federal loans and that’s your budget per year.

Sadly, Penn State is notoriously stingy for financial aid and merit. Average scholarship and need-based grant is about $6400. Also included in your financial aid package will be your loans. Penn State does not meet 100% of documented need. So subtract that from the $50k+ for OOS and you’ll still be stuck with a heavy burden. Definitely run the net price calculator and talk to your parents. Pennsylvania schools as a whole are more expensive and less generous to OOS students compared to some surrounding states. Unfortunately your stats aren’t high enough to likely warrant merit aid.
