Chance me, please! (Brown PLME, HYPS, UC's)

Hi all, just wanted some feedback, please bestow your insight upon this discussion post

SAT I (breakdown):

Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4.0
Weighted: not really sure, but lots of AP’s, over 2/3 of grades are A+'s, not sure if the latter helps

Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 1/650

AP (place score in parenthesis):
Calculus AB (5), Calculus BC (5), AP Biology (5), AP Lit (5), AP Chinese (5)

Senior Year Course Load:

National sports scholarship for leadership conference

State (if domestic applicant): CA
School Type: Public
Race: Asian
Gender: F
Income Bracket: 250,000+
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Nope

Reccomendations: No counselor rec because large public school (have been for years), but two strong recs from my other two teachers (one major-specific, one humanities). Recs from the research prof, and mayor

What (hopefully) makes me different: blend of humanities and STEM, pretty legit puns, research experience at top ranked program, national honors in major-specific competition

Strength (and also a weakness): really great grades growing up and through high school, so I didn’t spend very much time on competitions, and spent my energy on sports as well as being super involved in the community. But I do have a lot of focus on my major, including one of the competition honors

Essays: stressing a lot now with upcoming deadlines so they seem really strong one minute and weak the next, but overall I think they are good

Schools:
Brown PLME (please chance me especially on this!!), Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke, USC, JHU, Cornell
UC’s (Cal, LA, SD, Irvine, Davis)

Am still writing my essays, any tips on where I should head (direction-wise)?
Thank you!

TBH, your profile seems like a very typical Asian one. Great SATs, great GPA, piano, NHS, etc. That being said, you can really make yourself stand out through your essays. The UCs should be no problem for you. I think you’ll get into USC, JHU, and Cornell as well. I’m not sure about Duke. SHPY get a lot of Asian applicants like yourself, so those schools may go either way. Brown’s PLME program is one of the hardest to get into in the country, so even having a 2400 doesn’t guarantee anything.

IMO, it’ll come down to your essays and letters of rec. I wouldn’t be worried though. When April comes around, I’m sure you’ll have a plethora of colleges from which to choose. Good luck!

Great competitive stats and ECs, Asian or not Asian. You have a good shot at PLME but we can’t see your recs, essays and how your interview goes so we can only wish you the best of luck! Go get em!

You’re in ! Great stats .
