I realize that my application on paper doesn’t particularly stand out but I had a great interview (it lasted just under 2 hours) and I felt that my essays were really strong. So for me, Rice’s admission process was really holistic. Good luck to everyone applying hope to see you in Houston!!
Congratulations! DS applied to 6 “Top 20” reach schools and we are hoping 1 or 2 accept him, just so he has a chance to consider that path. Looking at this forum, in my mind that isn’t a probability, but is still a possibility. He is 0 for 2 on EA and now down to 4 RD’s left. He already has acceptances and scholarships from very good midwestern universities, so all will be fine regardless. I hear great things about Rice. I hope you have a wonderful college experience there!
@2KansasKids I was just curious I did not see any AP classes. I do know Rice likes to see you challenge yourself, but obviously if the school didn’t offer any than there is nothing your DS could have done. I am sure they won’t penalize for that.
He has taken the hardest schedule possible. Some are truly AP classes, others are ‘Honors’ classes. He got a 5 on his AP English Literature. Only a 3 on AP Chem.
