you are a friggin genius, you should be able to get into chicago and michigan with relative ease, you have a good shot at columbia.

thank you

wait...
i disagree with Asvointy Hawkins's optimism.
the fact is that you have a low GPA, low AP scores, OK extracurriculars, and OK test scores, all of which make it rather difficult to get into Columbia, which is an extremely good college.
I mean, you have a shot, but there isn't a high chance, especially due to the fact that non-citizens usually have a hard time getting into college (also, have you considered that non-citizens are not available for financial aid and most scholarships?)

Also, you can't apply early to both Columbia and Chicago!

wow...uhh the scores are awesome and you can apply early to chicago and columbia. dont act so cocky

her test scores are actaully significantly above average at columbia, look it up.

well, yeah her gpa is a little low, also what did you get on your ap exams?

it would look really bad to have so many ap classes but not report your scores.

i would think that your ap scores are good though.

i still think you have a decent shot at columbia, and i and 99.7 percent of seniors right now wish that we had a 2280, 800, and 770.

yo guys please answe this thread YOYOYOYO GUYS please chance me for ed at hopkins, cornell, and rice!!!

thanks guys

I am appying for ED Columbia and EA Chicago. I am pretty sure I can do that.

My AP scores are not so good...
BC-5
CHEM-4
ENG-4
US-3
somehow messed up almost all of them...

I actually thought my scores weren't enough and my GPA was decent considering the courses I am taking, but I guess I am wrong :P

What about some other ivies? Which ivies do I have a fair shot?

Wow, we're actually somewhat similar applicants (Check mine out here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/564831-can-you-feel-tension.html), except that I'm a US citizen. Anyway, all I can really say is that I hope you get in b/c that will probably mean I have a good chance at my schools! I'd say your ECs are pretty good (and better than mine I think) and your GPA/AP scores are somewhat weak. Everything else looks fine. I see you in at UChicago and UMich and not sure about Columbia. I don't think I need to tell you, though, that UMich has an incredible engineering school (far better than Columbia actually), so you should be happy there in case you don't make it to the big leagues. Good luck to you and please give me your opinion on my profile if you get the chance!

thanks njaznpremed.

The highest GPA in my class in about 3.84, from what I've heard.
Does this affect my GPA? I undertstand that for CC standard, my GPA of 3.75 is considered low, but when compared to the Highest GPA in my school, it is not too low in my opinion. Do colleges consider that?

And, I know UMich has a strong engineering school, but I am planning to major in Financial Engineering. Columbia has the best FE in the country.

The highest GPA situation puts things a bit more in perspective, but overall, I'd say you have an okay but not great shot at Columbia, though ED makes it a little easier. Plus being non-citizen will be sort of tough...

Columbia SEAS has an outstanding ED rate like 40-50% accepted, I think you'll get in.

Columbia College ED Rate:22%
Columbia SEAS ED RATE: 33% lol get you facts right simple person
Overall Columbia University ED Rate: Around 24%-27%

I think you will get in, especially since you're applying to the Fu school and not the College.

thank you everyone
bumpbump

do you think I will have a better shot at Penn since I'm attending a boarding school in PA?
