<p>I'm a junior in high school</p>

<p>I took the March SAT (my first official SAT and retaking it in May) and got my scores back yesterday</p>

<p>SAT scores:</p>

<p>Writing: 550
Reading: 570
Math: 610
Essay: 6 (Really really need to work on my essays)
Total: 1730 (Went up 155 from the last diagnostic I took the night before)</p>

<p>G.P.A:</p>

<p>I'm not entirely sure on my GPA (I'm going to get my transcript once I get back from spring break)</p>

<p>I have a 3.04 unweighted and a 3.14 weighted (The reason it is so low is because I missed a week of school last year towards the end and that brought me down to a C in one of my classes) I plan to bring it up to possibly a 3.25 at least by the time to send out college apps.</p>

<p>Activites:</p>

<p>I have been on a club swim team from (2005 - 2010) (Present - )
I have been in Tang Soo Do from (2003 - 2007) (2010 - 2011)
I am helping to start a group at my school that is a branch of a non-profit humanitarian organization </p>

<p>Volunteer:</p>

<p>Once a month I volunteer at a homeless shelter and serve food and spend time with the kids
I have helped at my church's springfest every year for the past few years (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011)</p>

<p>Internship:</p>

<p>I will have a summer long internship along with a 3 week intensive internship at a non-profit humanitarian organization</p>

<p>Recommendation letters:</p>

<p>A colonel in the Korean and Vietnam wars
Possibly my principal</p>

<p>While you’re not an applicant that UH Manoa would trip itself over to accept, I think you have a decent chance of getting in. Your stats are all within the middle 50 percent, and your extracurricular activities are impressive.</p>

<p>Hmmm, maybe so! Id say get an English teacher to help you with your essay though. Im sure they can give you some good tips and help modify your errors. I hope youre accepted!</p>

<p>GPA should go up, but the test scores are well within range. Good community service and EC’s though. I’d say you’re in!</p>

<p>Yee you are in if u bring the GPA up. not a hard college to get into, especailly with nice ECs.

<p>I am 90% sure you are gonna get in. A close friend of mine is going there with a 1740 on his SAT and a 2.8 unweighted, but he was varsity football 3 years</p>

<p>I would say that your chances are good (50%-60%). The only thing holding you back is your GPA. Get it up to a 3.2 and I would say you are in. </p>

<p>I think you have a good chance and you sat scores should be sufficient. I think you gpa will still get you in but it won’t hurt to raise it a bit and do well first semester. Goodluck</p>
