Chance me please- Human Ecology!!

<p>I applied RD to Human Ecology, specifically the Human Biology, Health and Society major which is basically studying human health from bot the hard and social science perspective, typically for pre-meds. Come from highly competitive public school in NJ, we had 6 kids get in ED to Cornell this year.</p>

<p>Stats:
SAT 1: 780W/ 740R/ 700M (2220)
SAT 2: 770 USH/ 740 Bio/ 700 Math 1
GPA: 3.76 W (low, but upward trend)
Took 5 AP's: English Lang (5), Apush (5), Bio (4), Chem and English Lit senior year</p>

<p>Awards:
AP Scholar
National Merit Commendation
Highest Honors for Academic Achievement (from school)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
1. Volunteer at camp for disadvantaged kids living w/ leukemia or cancer. Talked about this in my extracurric essay
2. Science resaerch: intern at Columbia University Biochem Lab, helped to make discovery, will be co-author of paper, got letter from head of lab
3. Varsity Tennis- Team State Sectional Finalists
4. Co-founded Jeopardy and Biology clubs at my school
5. member of Peer leadership program at my school
6. New Jersey Boys State
7. Other volunteering stuff</p>

<p>Recommendations:
Guidance Counselor: Excellent
AP English teacher: Great
AP Bio teacher: not sure, I think good
Head of lab: Excellent, "one of the best students I've had work for me"</p>

<p>Essays:
Common app: really good I think
Cornell essay: talked about how I experienced healthcare from two different perspectives, i.e scientific research and volunteering, and how this makes me a good fit for Human Ecology.</p>
