Yale-Reach
Brown (applied ED, deffered)-Reach
Vassar- Reach to Low Reach
Amherst- Reach to Low Reach
Bates-Match
Colby-Match
Bowdoin- Match
Bard (dont know this school)
UCB- Low Reach

UCSB- Match

Where Matches are schools I am pretty sure you will get into. The top schools are only reaches because their admissions decisions are highly differentiated depending on their needs that year, as such no one can really be sure of a place. But other than that your stats are great and so is your story …

Mind chancing me back?

Thank you. Oh I forgot to say I’m valedictorian. But I don’t think it means much in a class of ten.

Why no chance back for me? :stuck_out_tongue:

Just did

@allonsyalonso1‌ - I’m surprised you didn’t get into Brown ED. Perhaps they wanted to see your first semester grades before making a final decision. I expect you will get into several of these schools. I would think your background would make you an attractive candidate. Did you talk about your role with the teen theater troupe and your experiences growing up homeless in your essays?

@BldrDad‌ I discussed everything mentioned above somewhere in my application. My main essay was about ring homeless as a child and living in a rural area and the opportunities I’ve found through that, that have actually helped me. I wrote a supplement about the theater troupe.
It’s alright that I didn’t get in early. Everything happens for a reason and I’ll be happy anywhere I get into. Thank you for the feedback. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of them.

Brown missed the chance to admit the new Emma Watson :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:
Strong GPA, good sat scores and very nice extracurriculars. However, I think that your weakness is that most of your activities were all related to theater. Not enough community Service. And why did not you take SAT subject tests?
Overall, you have pretty good chances. You have got 4 matches, 2-3 Reaches and 2 low reaches…
Good luck getting accepted

WOuld you mind chancing me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1736352-chance-me-please-updated-will-chance-back-if-you-want.html#latest

@AKAKHALEDBEST‌ Thank you for the feedback. Can you tell me which schools are matches/ reach? So I want to clarify because I think my initial post was a bit misleading

  1. all of the journalism and work with the museum was community service. I do 5 hours a week
  2. I took the SAT 2s but was unhappy with scores. I got a 770 on English though
  3. I’m bilingual. I learned Spanish as a toddler from living in Honduras.

Thank you  I’ll chance back

They’re very strong, but which Major are you applying to? I guess your chance will differ a whole lot by knowing which major you’re in. GPAs and APs are amazing. ECs, they’re pretty good, but I’m not so sure how that’ll will help you because it really depends on your major and your Personal Statement (although it’ll probably be good since your circumstances are very special)
But Brown is probably out of reach.
UCB, if you’re in California, then yes.
UCSC Definitely
Yale, I’m not so sure.
The rest of the schools I’m not really familiar with them, so I won’t chance you in.
Good luck!

Can you please chance me too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1737469-chance-me-to-cornell-cals-aem-fall-external-transfer-rd.html#latest

@Natnat28 - at none of the private schools on that list does one apply for a specific major (or school, for that matter). Some will ask for a anticipated field of study, but I suspect that rarely is factored into admissions decisions.

@BldrDad‌ Oh right, the person is an upcoming freshmen.

I dont know about the others, just know about Brown and Yale. I would say those are both low reaches, did you mention that you were homeless in your app? Your scores are good, especially the ACT.
