Chance me? ...PLEASE? It'll pass the time...

Hi, so im a senior and I applied to WashU RD. Im really just asking people to chance me because the acceptance/denial date is really close and im freaking out... ANYWAYS,

I go to a Catholic all boys school in MA.

GPA: 3.6/3.65 UW, 3.95 W (Upward Trend, from like As and Bs to all As)

SAT: 2320- 800W 790M 730CR (one sitting)

Extra Curriculars: I have alot of planning positions on boards at school, im also the VP of NHS, member os Spanish NHS, 4 year member of both the Varsity Swim and Water Polo Teams (I place at states and could swim at WashU, but never contacted the coach which was dumb of me). Also, Im an officer for Best Buddies (working with developmentally delayed people). Im an editor of the school's literary magazine. Also 5 more activities but theyre not as significant.

Over 400 hours of Community Service.

Work Experience: I teach swim lessons, coach a swim team, and lifeguard.

I did not apply for Financial Aid.

I took two APs last year (English language (4) and APUSH which is a two year course at my school so we dont take the exam until senior year)

Senior Year Courses: AP Calc AB, AP Econ, AP English Lit, AP Spanish Lang, AP US History, and Religion and Psychology (its one course, my school requires religion credits)

I have consistantly taken a challenging course load.

I have not done anything to show interest beyond going to the WashU info session at my school and signing my name, so thats probably not good, but it is one of my two top schools...

If you wouldnt mind telling me my chances that would be awesome..thanks

Chances look decent - have a fairly good chance. I don’t know the deal with swimming and your chances of walking on (guess it depends just how good you are), but we do have a club water polo team which just won nationals, if you’re interested.

Where in MA? I am from WMass. I was accepted ED.
GL - we could use some more people from NE in the class os 2016!

“GL - we could use some more people from NE in the class os 2016!”

The only way that would be accurate is if you intended NE as the state abbreviation for Nebraska  Haha, seriously, there are so many students from the nyc/boston/philly/dc areas it’s crazy. Same goes for california.

And Chicago.

I’m from the North Shore…so near Salem. That always seems to be the only place that people know near me haha. My best friend and I are the only two people from my school to apply there this year, and I have 300 people in my grade. Plus most people I’ve talked to from here have never heard of it, which is bizarre. I really hope I get in!!

Great chance–your upward trend is fantastic!! And your SAT score is amazing as well!
Your ECs are unique too.

Good luck! WUSL is a fantastic school.

Ryan, I meant New England not the Northeast. MA, RI, CT, NH, VT and ME. Made sure I used the state abbreviations this time :)

Yesim, I hope you get in. I live near Springfield. There are a few kids from Eastern Mass that got accepted ED. There is a Wash U class of 2016 group on facebook.

yesim: trust me, it is NOT unusual that no one you know has ever heard of WashU…I’m from CT and I thought it was just an East Coast thing, but then I talked to other people in the 2012 facebook group and realized that it happens everywhere

just get used to it :P

I was wait listed. Fingers Crossed I get in!!
