WUSTL ED: High match

I agree^ u need more volunteer hours for a better chance.

chill. your stats are on par with the acceptee pool. just make sure you show interest in the school, as washu does have a bit of tufts syndrome.

Dude, Washu in St Louis - MATCH.

I know someone with lower stats than you and pretty good essays who got in. Don’t worry. You’ll get in

You need to show interest. I got waitlisted, because I didn’t show that much interest. Interest is important for WUSTL.

it is impossible for anyone to say. looks like you have a good chance to me.

the volunteer hours comment is really funny - at least i hope it was a joke, ,even funnier if it was serious

completely agree about the interest comment. email the local rep, visit, send extra lors, see if you hs has a contact student already enrolled, mail in the information request from wusl website, sign in at any college fairs…etc. etc… gl dude or dudette

ps…700+ … be nicer to your parents than are your siblings…

Thank you so much guys. Right now, I have about 150 volunteer hours but that will increase to probably 200 this summer. Is that enough?

there is no such thing as a correct number. it is the opposite of LDL cholesterol - the lower it is, the better for you. Slight tics upward or downward in the number of hours is not important in their decision. The more the better for VHours, but be guided by your ‘gut’. You can always do a Bernie Madoff on the bank accounts if things don’t work out. -----just kidding   :)

ps - I hear great things about WUSL, and I personally love a school that values student interest - I feel that it demonstrates that the school has a ‘soul’. Great place for pre-med, great food too from what I hear. I think Elon, a ‘lower ranked’ school seems to share some of WUSL’s values from what I gather.

Alright thanks guys. So, in terms of demonstrates interest, would a visit over spring break suffice? They did send me some information in the mail but I didn’t think to reply. Any suggestions lol?

there appear to be different tours available. if you have time, i would think that you might want to visit the medical campus as well, since pre pre med.

at the risk of sounding parental, i really hope that you are looking forward to going there for a visit. the words you use in post 12 make me wonder if this feels like an obligation/chore for you. We only get so many spring breaks to enjoy. sorry if i am over-analyzing.
here is a link. i think that pre-registering if possible might add your name in a separate data-base which would be good if so.

The people who are telling you need to show demonstrated interest have reading levels of 4th graders. He has pretty nice stats and HE IS APPLYING ED. He is not going to get rejected on the basis of Tufts Syndrome. OP: You have a great chance of acceptance.

To show demonstrated interest would have been good advice had he been applying RD, though.

Wash U ED: Decent chances (No FA)

More volunteer work

Wash U doesn’t value student interest, THEY VALUE MONEY. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

$_$

(ED wouldn’t hurt, though!)

(Also, have your parents give them 200K in donations.)

Edit: (Maybe throw the admissions staff a party with bottles of Crystal)
