Low GPA but I go to a really competitive school with 30% of students attending Ivy League schools and 70% attending top 30 schools

SAT II: Chinese (760), Math (740), US History (710) [Didn’t send these scores to schools that did not require it]

I understand I have a low GPA but I was wondering if my test scores could help my situation.
My teacher recs and counselor rec should be really good
Would it help my case if I talked about a hook/something really different in my personal statement [EX: being gay in a conservative family]

Schools like Georgetown will really hate that 3.4 gpa making those schools reach to high reaches. However, do you have any reasons for the low gpa? Or is it just a really bad freshman year? Because you have to remember that some schools like the UC’s don’t count freshman year gpa so you might have better chances. Otherwise, solid EC’s and test scores, so I wouldn’t worry so much.
