Summer engineering research at a university

Hooks: URM, maybe legacy (not really sure if it’s legacy but my sister went to Columbia so we’ll just say school affiliation)

Notes: Not really sure what to think about my stats tbh. I feel like my engineering ECs are weak along with my class rank because 2 out of 20 is just parely top 10% and I worry that these colleges will question why I wasn’t able to come in first out of only 20 people. Also my school has never sent anyone to an Ivy. The most selective has been Vandy because a lot of people either want to stay close to home or continue religious education.

Your extracurriculars are so spread out and random. Many people are the Student Body VP or Pres, captains of all of these clubs, what makes you different? You are an athlete so can you be recruited? What really makes you different?

In at Stanford, Purdue & Illinois. Columbia as well.

You are extremely competitive for all of these schools

Really, you think I would just be in at Stanford, like that? Idk my class rank and ECs are weaknesses I think.

I would say you have at chance at UT-Austin but even automatic Texas kids with 35s/top .5% great Ecs didn’t get their major so idk anymore
