How do you rate my chances? Where do you think I will get accepted?
Be objective
Although you have a great app in general, you do not have anything that makes you stand out of the rest of the applicant pool. The fact that you are from Tunisia might help you. However, your need for FA might bring you down at need aware places such as Stanford, UChicago, etc. If your essays are as good as you say they are, you should get into at least one of the Ivies that you have applied to. As for U Miami, Denver etc, I do not really know a lot.
Best of luck!

You should easily get into schools like Fordham. I would say that you have a great shot at Vanderbilt, but the Ivy League schools are all reaches for everyone. I’m pretty sure that you’ll get into at least one of them though, otherwise I would be surprised. Can you please chance me back? Thanks! For my most recent post
Looking really solid, I both hope and think you’ll get into at least one of your reach schools. I am not sure whether applying out of Tunisia will be an advantage or not, but intuitively I’d like to think so. I’m thinking a school like Harvard with need-blind admissions might actually work. Unfortunately, applying for aid will hamper your chances for the others. Also, did Fordham bombard you with e-mail advertisements just as they did to me or did you find out about it by yourself?
@aalewis Yeah! They bombarded me with emails so I applied there. But then, I realized that they do not give aid for International students :-L
They’re really solid. But, my concern is that your ECs don’t really match with Engineering. Like yes, working in a factory helps, but Kung Fu not really in my opinion.
Ivy Leagues are pretty slim right now since as everyone else have stated you are applying for financial aid and you’re on the low side of the income bracket. Plus, you’re an international student applying directly from Tunisia right? As far as I know, that’ll also put you at a disadvantage. But other than that, I think you have a pretty decent chance to the other schools you’re applying too! Good luck!!
Can you please chance me back too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1737469-chance-me-to-cornell-cals-aem-fall-external-transfer-rd.html#latest Thanks!!
Wow you applied to a lot of schools. That is impressive. You have a great GPA and SAT scores and your course load is very impressive. However, since you have such a high financial need you may have trouble at some schools. However, to my knowledge most of the colleges you applied to are need blind. Your ECs dont exactly fit to your major and are a bit lacking, but I think you will still have a chance at a lot of schools.
Here are my opinions (and thats all they are, opinions)
MIT/Harvard/Stanford/Columbia/Duke: reach
U Chicago/Grinell/UPenn: high match
Trinity/was st. Louis: mid match
UDenver/U Miami: safety/ low match
The others i’m not familiar with.
Thank you for your response to my post. If any other readers would reply to my post it’d be appreciated

Your unique origins and extracurriculars are definately going to get you into the admissions committee discussions at the very least. Don’t worry about your SATs the avergae performance(for these schools) is helped by your academic excellence elsewhere.
Columbia / -High Reach
Cornell University- Low Reach
Duke-Reach
Fordham- Match
Harvard -High Reach( I am from africa too and I have a couple of friends who have gotten into harvard with 1900s so dont lose faith ever!)
Stanford -High Reach
Trinity College- Match
UChicago- Low Reach/Reach
UDenver- Match
U Miami -Match
U Notre Dame-Match
UPenn - Low reach only because you are applying for engineering
Vanderbilt- Low Reach/Match
Washington St. Louis- Low Reach/Match
MIT-Match(I really think you will get in, I know some guy who got in with similar stats last year)
Where Matches are schools I am pretty sure you will get into. The top schools are only reaches because their admissions decisions are highly differentiated depending on their needs that year, as such no one can really be sure of a place. But other than that your stats are great and I really think you will end up somewhere great!!
Columbia/Cornell/Duke/Harvard/Stanford/UChicago/MIT - Reach, you should get in too 1 or 2
Rhodes/Vanderbilt/Notre Dame/UPenn/WASHU - Low Reach, High Match. Should get in too a few
Trinity/Miami/Denver - Safety
Fordham - Low Safety
Chance me back?? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1738271-chances-for-north-carolina-and-south-carolina-schools.html#latest

MIT- Again cant sayy
Anyone available for some feedback?
Phenomenal stats, but sadly, the schools you are applying to reject so many top students every year. Being international will help you stand out and your EC’s are great, so i believe you have a higher than average chance of getting in into all the ivies.
I’m not the most knowledgeable person in the world, but you stand a great chance! Your extracirricukar activities are pretty cool, I must say.
