Hey, so I'm just now finishing my junior year of high school. To be completely honest, I haven't paid much attention to school/extra-curricular activities/volunteering/etc. over the years, and I am beginning to strongly regret this. My core GPA is a 3.8 at the end of this year, and I have never taken an AP class before however I plan to take 4 my senior year. My GPA is on a rise and I truly believe I am going to get all A's my senior year. The reason for this being that something happened in my life that made me mature extremely rapidly and made me want to pay much more attention to my education. You see, school had always come easy to me....I was able to get A's and a few B's in honors classes without putting much effort at all into it whatsoever. I had planned to go to an easy college, such as UCF (I live in Florida) where all my high school friends were going. However, my family started going through some problems because my mother was charged with several cases of identity theft and is now serving seven years in prison. This unexpected event changed my perception of all of reality. Ever since then, I had started questioning everything, which lead to me starting to write poetry, songs, and short essays mainly contemplating human nature and the concepts of time, death, infinity, and the universe. This then lead to an extreme interest in certain school subjects, which lead to the realization of the importance of education. Now here I am, changing my entire social group from the cool-kid alcoholics to the intelligent nerds, and looking back at my entire high school career with a huge slap to my face. This life-changing event is something I plan to focus my college essay on, and I also intend to attach some of my personal writing.

I am spending 7 weeks this summer in Ecuador to volunteer building up a poor community with a program called AMIGOS. I am in the National Honors Society, and plan to join the National English Honors Society, the Mathematics one, the Science one, and also the Spanish one. I've played basketball, I am joining cross-country and track next year, and I am a new addition to the senior class government as a class representative. My composite ACT score was a 32.

I want to go to University of Florida, and I also (unrealistically) am looking at Rice University and also Brown University. If not any of these colleges, Florida State or University of Central Florida.

Please chance me, and thank you so much for your time. I apologize for boring you to death with my long life-story.
