Chance me please :) villanova, u of richmond, bc, lehigh among others

hello i'm from NJ, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what my chances are/what i can do to improve my chances. I go to a public county academy (all honors, specializing in communications).

I plan on applying to: William and Mary, University of Richmond, American, Villanova, Boston College, Lehigh, Marist, Loyola Maryland, and Scranton (And maybe Princeton- I know it's a really far reach right now with my SATs but it's somewhere I've always wanted to go to)

-Female
-White
-Junior
Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.8 (out of 4.0, my school doesn't weight, since we have all honors classes)
Rank: My school doesn't rank because it's an academy, so everyone is smart
PSAT: 1950
SAT: 1910 CR: 600 M: 640 W: 670
(It was the first time i took them and without much preparation, so I am taking them again in March, and then again in June or September. I did a lot better on reading on the PSATs, even though i know they're very different)
I plan on taking SAT II's in May. (I think literature, spanish, and math level 1. i might take math level 2 instead of spanish)

Schedule (My school only has honor classes- no APs. we get college credits for Spanish IV, Calculus, and Creative Writing [English IV]):

Freshman: World History, Geometry, English I, Biology, Spanish II, Health, Gym, Intro to Digital Video, Computer Applications, Intro to TV/Radio, Public Speaking

I guess for my essay I plan on talking about how growing up close with a cousin with severe disabilities and another cousin with behavioral issues has made me interested in psychology and has helped me grow as a person.

I think I'm going to ask my teacher/advisor of Chorus for a letter of rec because she saw me start the club from the beginning and has seen how we have progressed under my leadership, stuff like that.

Thank you so much for reading this, I really appreciate your advice

…so basically every course u have is just a difficult course making your school a difficult school, doesnt mean much that you have only honors since there is no difference between those students who take the standard course and the advanced courses, colleges wont care about that aspect of your school unless it already has a reputation of being a challenging academic insititutin,

nonetheless the GPA will take you far for almost every school, the test scores on the other hand are pretty low but u can just take them again, i would advise taking some subject tests for the higher reach school since it will make you stand out from all the other applicants or at least put you on the same level

your EC’s seem to be decent for the schools

William and Mary Low Reach to Reach just becuase its OOS
University of Richmond High Match
American Match
Villanova Match
Boston College Low Reach to Reach, they get 30,000+ applicants every year since they have no supplement so your commonapp is critical
Lehigh Low Reach
Marist Safety
Loyola Maryland Safety
Scranton Safety
Princeton High high reach, save your money sorry, unless u have legacy and something really interesting to write about in your essay and a 2200+ SAT

I would say most that I’ve heard of at least are reaches, just because of the lack of APs and the mediocre SAT scores. Sorry. Good luck.

I mentioned before that my school doesn’t offer APs… so there’s nothing i can do about that. i take the most rigorous schedule my school offers.

anthonykim, thank you so much! that’s pretty much what i figured, so i’m glad it’s not just me that thinks that those are my chances :)
