Chance me please, want to go to MIT..

I am an international student and really want to transfer to MIT. I am now a freshman in a college and plan to transfer to MIT for my sophomore year.
Ethnicity : Asian
Major : Mechanical Engineering
TOEFL IBT: 97
SAT II : Math I 790; Math II 800; Physics 760

GPA :
Freshman Fall Term: 4.0 (Calc I, Chem I, College Writing, Computer Programming) 16 credits

Job: Janitor in college(12 hours per week)
Volunteer(total 18 hours): M-2 Visitation(Visit inmate in prison once a month)
Numana meal Packaging
Several other volunteerings

EC: Chess in high school(1 year)
Soccer in high school(2 years)

Is there any advice to improve the chance to be accepted in MIT?? Please recommend me other good universities for engineering.

Chance me please…

I’m not that great at chancing, but I can give you some advice. I think your ECs are a bit weak. If you do any academic competitions or research, you should mention it. If you haven’t done any, you should really try to participate in some.

I’m no expert, but I’d say that MIT is still a reach school for you (unless if they favor college transfer students), although schools on that caliber are a reach for practically anyone. As jsun said, boost your EC’s. You can always go to MIT for your graduate degree, which will give you time to build up a strong resume.

Please [chance me back](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1435182-what-my-chances-resume.html).

Thank you very much! I really appreciate that…

Go accomplish something other than schoolwork. Conduct private research etc. Thats the kind of thing you need on a resume.

Right now, I don’t see a reason why you would want to go to MIT… what kind of research have you conducted or interested in? you have to let them know…

Well you need to take the SAT I, and MIT strongly recommends that you take college level calculus-based physics, so I would be sure to do that. You should also try to take a college level biology course, though that isn’t as vital as physics.

I took the SAT I already. I got 1700ish and because i’m a non-native English speaker, I can choose between the TOEFL and SAT I. As my SAT I score is really low, I decided to just sent them my TOEFL score. Do you think it is better for me to send them my SAT I score too? or is it better if I retake the SAT I? I’m taking the College Physics II this spring term. Thanks a lot.
