Chances at UVA, UNC, UMichigan, Boston College, and UConn? Would schools like Georgetown and Duke be too far of reaches?

Current University: American University (Washington, DC)
Class Standing: I'm in my first year, but I had 36 AP/ECE (UConn's early college experience program) credits coming in, so I'm technically a sophomore.
First Semester GPA: 3.85
Major: Double in Journalism and Economics
High School GPA: 3.6
SAT's: R-650 M-650 W-670 (1300/1600, 1970/2400)
EC's: Reading tutor at a DC elementary school and other community service

Thank you so much for all the help!!

Also I took 16 credits in the fall semester and I should be taking another 15-17 in the spring.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys.

Hey, here’s how I see it. You have a really good shot at UNC, UMich, and UConn. UVA will be slightly more difficult. And BC will be the hardest.

Out of curiosity, but why don’t you like AU? I’m thinking of transferring there next year.

I’m not totally sure how to explain it but AU just wasn’t the right fit for me. I came to AU because of how much I loved DC, and that has certainly been reinforced. I love the people and all my friends as well. In spite of that, the school seems to lack a real college atmosphere. There’s almost no school spirit, and it seems like most people are more focused on the next internship with some random senator/congressman that they’re going to get (or in other words they’re more focused on their future than enjoying the college experience, which I understand in a lot of cases isn’t the worst thing) than just simply being a college student. That said, I certainly would recommend AU even though I’m transferring out. It’s a great place, it’s just not for me.
