You have a lot of qualities and achievements
I would like to focus on certain parts of your stats:

Whats your SAT score break down? 2100 is not very competitive for Harvard where thousands of applicants have stellar scores.

What pool are you going to be applying from? US pool or Norwegian pool? Not that it matters because Harvard has one single pool but if you apply under Norwegian pool your application is going to be viewed slightly differently

If you show your passion for skiing and community service and write personal stories about how they helped you become who you are then you have a very good shot(as these are the most striking things I could find in your stats)

Your awards look good and should definitely boost your chances
Well you certainly have a shot! Best o luck!

Thanks. I’m going to work on the SAT, I’m retaking it in fall.

Also, I’m hoping to apply early decision–does that increase my chances at all?

I forgot to include that I am a legacy, and that my father was editor of the Crimson and then worked as a “Scholar in Residence” for some years. Will that help at all?

Thank you!

In.

tenchar

YES

Being a legacy certainly gives you an edge but don’t take it for granted
And I don’t know whether applying EA would give you any advantage

All the best

Harvard will admit 5.5% of the applicants this year. Unless you are a recruited athlete, there is no one who can be considered automatic based on a chance me. Essentially it is a 5.5% chance.

As a legacy, you have 30% of legacy pool.

You should apply for EA. Your chance will be really good given your legacy status and a year of experience abroad.
