GPA is a little low. What’s your SAT score out of 2400 b/c that’s what SCU looks at. The silver stuff doesn’t matter b/c you barely dabbled in it. Colleges don’t care what you did once or twice; they care about what you stuck with.

1900

Ok 1900 should be good enough to get in, I think it’s slightly above the average. Goodl luck!

Ur GPA is too low…but you never know
I’ve had a few friends with 3.7 GPAs and very involved in clubs and with decent SAT scores (1700s) and they were rejected by scu

My friend recently talked to the admissions people at SCU and they say that because of budget cuts, admission to scu has been getting harder and harder each year.

Good luck though

I’m just curious–in what way are budget cuts affecting admissions to SCU?

^ I wonder the same thing at first, then I thought he meant the budget cuts in UC/CSU causing more applicants to private colleges.

I don’t think buget cuts have anything to do with acceptance rates at private schools. The UC/CSU system taking more out of state students b/c they pay more in tuition, but all SCU student pay the same amount. Private schools don’t have budgets like public schools do… Although it is true SCU is getting harder and harder to get into b/c the school is looking to increase the quality of its student body and is doing so by renivating the campus and giving out a lot of scholarships to qualified students.

what i meant was that since scu has less funds for its incoming freshman class, the financial packages that they give out are going to students with outstanding grades and extracurriculars…they are being more selective with who they give financial assistance to since they don’t have much money to give out

If you come from a very well off family and don’t request financial aid…i guess it would be a different story
