Santa Clara University
College of Arts and Sciences

Senior
Academics:
GPA: 3.64 UW, 3.81 W (including 1st semester senior year - midyear report will indicate a 4.16 GPA for the semester),
2 AP's senior year, 2 AP's junior year, 2 honors sophomore year.
Rank: 31/362 or so. Top 10%. Regular old public school...Averages based on grades 10-12.

SAT:
Math - 610
Reading - 590
Writing -610.
Total: 1810
or 1200/1600.

Subject Scores: They don't ask for them.

AP Exam: APUSH - 4. Plan to take two more exams in May.

I did do some sports and had a job for some time, and I do have an immigrant background (I came to the US at 9, and I speak three different languages).

I was rejected from Cal Poly, and when I called them, they said that only 48/750 of their biochemistry applicants were accepted. Which is ridiculous. Thats a 6% admit rate while the rest of the school is 37%.

I wasn't even really worried about Santa Clara until I was rejected from Cal Poly and now I'm worried that I should have applied for a different major...but honestly I don't know if SCU is quite as strict as Cal Poly in regards to the major. If they are...is there any way to change? I don't think its fair that my friends with much worse scores get in with a business major while I get rejected because I chose a certain major...

Does anybody know exactly how SCU operates in this regard? Thanks a bunch.

I swear I won’t be mad if someone chanced me.

I think you will get in. Best of luck!

Thank you!

Anybody else with any idea on how difficult the College of Arts and Sciences is to get into?
