Transfer student from East Los Angeles College
3.61 GPA
I’m following the assist.org criteria to transfer into their Software Engineering program. However, I am missing two classes that they require. They stated that I should select one series of either Chemistry or Physics, but I was not able to get General Chemistry II. I now have General Chemistry I, Physics 1(Mechanics of Solids) and Physics 3(Electricity and Magnetism) under my belt, but I was not able to get Physics 2(Mechanics of Fluids, Heat, and Sound). I’m wondering whether or not my admission will be affected since I did not select one series to complete. Also, I have finished all of the math classes that they require and have taken psychology along with a semester of programming.

I read somewhere in the forum that you really need all three Physics courses, but dont take my word for it.

Classes are the key for transfer students.

Don’t trust me on this, but I heard that if you have those missing classes, it’s automatic denial. My cousin tried transferring from La Cuesta, but the counselor he talked to said he could not get in because of him missing a math class on the list. He ended up getting into UCSB anyway though #swag.
