What should I do to help my APP and what are my chances to get into UM?

I realize that the UC system doesn’t have much aid to give out, but would the little bit of aid UMass would give you as an OOS student offset the in-state costs for a UC school?

UMass is viewing OOS students as a source of revenue.

Also, your CR score is quite low for UMass.

MADad… I am also from California and I know it is hard for people OOS to understand how bad it is in California. UCLA cost of attendance for next year is about $33,000. The other huge issue is that it is very difficult to get into UCSD, UCI, UCLA, CAL and even UCSB. You need at least a 4.3 GPA and almost perfect test scores and like you stated there is no merit aid. The two state schools that have sports and provide “the college experience” SDSU and Cal Poly are very hard to get into, impacted and you can only take 13 credits/semester.

I am also looking OOS because of the above reasons. I can receive more merit aid from schools outside the state of California
