ECs (This isn't very good in my opinion)

Football- School team, district, state and national level. (national level only one year)
Music- Guitar and Violin. Member of school band.
Member of inter school quiz team
Member of school science society.
I like to cook as a hobby (don't know if it really matters)

Community Service- Close to a 100 hours. (mostly in the holidays)

Essays.
I spent quite a lot of time on them so they will be reasonably good. At least most of them.

Recommendations-
Should be good.

Awards- nothing major.
ASSET exam distinguished performance (top 5%)
A couple of school awards.

And i require some amount of aid. Not all the way but about 30%.

Thanks in advance :)

It is not useful to apply to need-blind colleges if you can pay 70% of the comprehensive fee. You’re in at GA Tech, but good luck with the others. They are all super competitive.

Vivaciousakrish
What do you mean its not useful to apply to need-blind colleges if I can pay 70%? Princeton and MIT are my dream colleges.
and besides 70% is the outer limit. I can pay 45-55 % for sure. Rest will be a stretch. (working or maybe a small loan)

m123456ab, you seem to be a very strong candidate and I feel that outcome will depend mostly on your essays and recommendation letters. If your essays and those letters together portray a strong character then you are in at all those schools.
I hope you wrote something about your cooking hobby.

I bet you are going to get into one of your dream schools. Good luck! :)

PS: Don’t worry too much about your ECs. If you are honest and you have done them for your personal satisfaction then that’s all matters. Just my humble opinion.

@m123456ab ,What are u most passionate about???

@Chubbycheeks-
thanks. yes i did write bit about my cooking
@quiverfox
I’d have to say football. I’v been playing pretty seriously for around 11 years.

Have you…any other science related interest…???(since all the places you applied are tech schools)

@quiverfox
you asked what im most passionate about. That is football. Besides this I love maths and physics and am planning to pursue engineering. Hence the tech schools. Within physics I am interested in space travel

Your academics are very good. It all depends on whether or not you could portray yourself well through essays & recs!!

All the best!! :D

Would really appreciate some more views

Dude, ASSET is a farce. I got a 99.7 percentile and I’m not even putting it on my app.

what do you mean its a farce?

Meaningless and without value. It was ridiculously easy to get 99+ ( I got 36/40 as the raw score )

I got a 99.8 percentile in the ASSET test (38/40)…even im not putting it in my app

what is ASSET???

^ a joke of a test we took in class 8

I took it in class 5. Waste of time it was.
