CHANCE ME PLEASE

I am a recent graduate from Barnard College, one of Columbia University’s undergrad’s (all women’s school). My gpa is fairly low - a 3.07(had a very bad semester I can explain), with a 3.54 in my major, English lit. I have several extracurriculars in leadership roles, my sorority, and job experience in marketing ( 4 internships). I am a white. 23 y/o female with little journalism experience but a large background in social sciences research/documentary making, and creative writing. I’ve written for Mic.com and Inside New York, but only briefly at each. I’m starting my own blog about social concerns for our generation.

I am looking at J-schools for 2016. Which schools should I be aiming for? I expect to work with an author in this coming year, and gre scores aiming for:

Verbal" 160
Quant: 160
Writing: 5.0 & 5.0

Can I look at schools like Medill and Columbia? I like Upenn, Syracuse, and penn state as well but I don’t have such a strong journalism background, mostly writing and research for classes… kind of nervous about my chances

any advice would be awesome
