chance me please

I’m applying to UCSD, UCSB, UVA, UMich, UMaine, UCONN, UMass Amherst, University of South Carolina

I’m in MA. Michigan is the goal (high reach).

uwGPA: 3.4
wGPA: 3.7
ACT Composite: 28
AP Scores: 3 (APUSH) 2 (AP Bio - not submitting) 2 (AP Human Geo - not submitting)
currently taking AP Calc and AP Physics 1
~30 hours of community service and volunteering
-only taken honors and AP classes
-3D Animation merit award Junior Year
-played soccer and baseball all my life
-had a part time job
-multiple classes in locally well known stem program at my school
-great letters of recommendation
-great essay and questions

Also, I can take the ACT one more time in December before regular decision deadlines but it won’t get to UVA before the deadline. I’m applying EA to all but Michigan and Virginia in hope to send a higher score.

what? I’m a hs senior. I just thought mentioning work experience was helpful

it might be worth mentioning that my family knows a rich alum from uva who would hopefully put in a good word for me. I believe he’s on a board at the school

can you repeat that

High Reach: UCSD, UCSB, UMich, UVA
Low Reach/ High Target: U South Carolina
Target: UConn, UMass Amherst
Safety: UMaine
As far as part time job goes, did you get fired, or why do you no longer work? I would also consider finding an organization for more volunteer hours if you can find the time. Work hard and try to get that ACT up…also just letting you know that the UC’s don’t have EA so you can submit a higher score for them if you retake.

I just quit because school started and the job was awful

That’s fine, it’s definitely worth mentioning. Would you mind chancing me back?

About the UC’s, I saw that the deadline is 11/30. I can send the newest December scores to them?

Can you afford the UC’s at $55K per year? There is no financial aid for OOS students.
OOS students are full pay.
You self report the scores for the UC’s.

I think they will accept December scores, but no later than December.

Contact the individual schools for their policies.

UCSD/ UCSB are both Reaches due to your lower than average GPA. Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79 was 6% for UCSD and 13% for UCSB. ACT is a bit low also.

I just found out, like literally 15 seconds ago that I can still sign up for October ACT (with a hefty fee) so that is irrelevant for now. I actually can’t afford that much and was hoping for SOME aid. Thanks for the response

Taking it again in October. Thanks
