@az1848400 Wow! Those are some great numbers. Just looking through quickly, I’d say you are right where you need to be academically. A 4.7 weighted GPA is above average for admitted students, so that’s definitely a plus. Your extracurriculars look quite interesting, as well. Personally, I’d advise against sending your SAT/ACT scores. Even if you see a little improvement on them from this year, I wouldn’t send them unless you hit a percentile at least in the low nineties. At the end of the day, Wake is test optional for a reason; they care more about your stellar performance in the classroom over four years than they do about your four-hour standardized test. In your case, you are well-positioned without it, so I wouldn’t worry too much. Obviously, some people would disagree, so that’s just my opinion.

Other than that, I don’t know what part of NC you are from, but it may very well be worth your time to take a trip to Winston-Salem this summer! While you’re there, you can also do an interview on campus.

Whatever you decide, best of luck, and please let me know if you have any other questions!

@az1848400 I think your chances are very good. Get that interview done. In my opinion that is one of the most important things about the wake application process

Yes, the interview is a great idea, on campus or via skype. You are thinking about majoring in biology. Have you read about the new Wake Downtown campus? It’s for biosciences and will house new bioscience/biomedical programs. It’s a huge new project for the school. The facilities are fantastic, and the labs brand new, some still being set up. That would be great for you to know about in an interview and offers a great opportunity for questions that you might ask because it is really still coming online. So some info on how it is working out is evolving.

I get a strong impression that Wake admissions does not “penalize” students for not sending scores and accepts a healthy % of incoming students without scores. Academically, grades/challenging courses matter most. Good luck!

Oh my goodness! Thanks for all the feedback guys! This really helps me! I will definitely schedule a visit and interview! @wfufan @TTG @lopeztlo7

Just to add, interview spots–on campus and skype–fill up quickly, so it’s good to schedule those well in advance. Last admissions season, spots completely filled up several weeks before the interview process closed, which, as I recall, was late in the fall.
