GPA: 3.95uw/4.32w(will graduate from large public school)
ACT: 33
Georgia resident,caucasian male, rising sr
Intended major: chemistry

AP: calculus ab, calculus bc, eng lang, eng lit, gov, macroeconomics, chemistry (transferred from a small private school that didnt offer APs my junior year. Had all honors and 1 dual enrollment 9th and 10th)

EC:
State archery champ team 2 yrs, individual state male champion 1 yr, multiple tournament wins. Participant at national and world archery tournament. State mens quartet winner at lit arts, all state and all district choirs, multiple musical roles, sga pres freshman year, nhs, mu alpha theta, beta club, national eng honor society, lit magazine, school paper, yearbook. 2 summers hospital volunteer, united way city youth council member where we raised over 5000 for a local non profit and served in many volunteer areas (year commitment), city youth volunteer of the year, self published 3 books on amazon. Published in 2 poetry anthologies. More but those are the major highlights.

Very tough for any of those.

GA Tech and Duke are bad, but its going to be harder for the Ivies. Did you take the chemistry subject test, and how did you score on your AP tests in general?

Kadel1023 what do you base that on? Just wondering.

First hand recent experience at several of those schools suggests to me OP would seem to at least be considered as a reach. Would be great to see act 34-35 and would need well worked essay.

I have no idea about archery but clearly the OP is both passionate and very good at it. I would want to hear more about it before discounting chances.

Your ECs seem really great!!! A lot of the schools on your list do a holistic review and don’t consider test scores very highly so I think you definitely have a solid chance despite your ACT being probably 1 or 2 points below their average. And as long as you’re doing well in your classes I’d say there’s no reason not to apply to these schools :slight_smile: Good luck!!! Wish u the best!!!
