10th GPA: 94.55
11th GPA: 99.16
12th GPA: So far, over 100</p>

<p>I know I slacked a little 9th grade, but my grades have gone up with the rigor of my classes.</p>

<p>-courses: </p>

<p>Pre-AP's are 1.05 weight, AP's are 1.1 at my school. I go to a very competitive high school in south Texas. It was ranked 11th best in the nation by Newsweek my 9th grade year, 40th best my sophomore year, and I believe 15th last year. It has a very rigorous curriculum, especially in math/science (it's a school geared towards science and engineering).</p>

<p>9th:
Introduction to Engineering Design (dual-enrollment with Rochester Institute of Technology [RIT])
Algebra II Pre-AP
English 1 GT Pre-AP
World History Pre-AP
PE
Research and Technical Writing
Computer Science I Pre-AP
Integrated Physics/Chemistry Pre-AP
Bio I Pre-AP </p>

<p>10th:
Chemistry I Pre-AP
English II GT/Pre-AP
Spanish II Pre-AP
Environmental Systems
World Geography Pre-AP
Geometry Pre-AP
Art I
Digital Electronics (dual enrollment with RIT)</p>

<p>11th:
English III GT AP
Communication Applications
SAT/ACT Prep (required by school district, the one horrible class required by our school, helped none towards actual SAT score)
Pre-Calculus Pre-AP
Physics B AP
U.S. History AP
Health
PE
Spanish III Dual Enrollment AP
Principles of Engineering (another RIT class)</p>

<p>12th:
Calculus I AP dual enrollment
Physics C AP (I was allowed to take the class even though I don't know calculus yet, and this is calculus based physics)
Government/Economics (both AP)
English IV Lit AP
Computer Science II AP (Java)
Independent Study in Computer Science (C++)
Engineering Design and Development
Computer Integrated Manufacturing (RIT class)
PE</p>

<p>ECs/Activities/Etc:
Taught myself HTML, PHP, SQL, ActionScript
Worked as freelance programmer/web designer since 9th grade, received excellent reviews and ratings
Did a lot of summer research at a local Texas A&M research lab
Co-authored a scientific paper
Worked as a lab technician last summer, excellent letter of rec from a leading scientist
A lot of community service
Worked as a volunteer programmer for LifeNets (non-profit working to end genocide in Africa)
Ran a very successful campaign for LifeNets, collected over 300 letters from concerned citizens to Senators, invited to attend meeting with Senators (unfortunately I cannot afford the plane ticket as LifeNets only has enough money to pay for my hotel room)
Spent a lot of time tutoring peers</p>

<p>Where I'm applying:
Rice University (Early Decision)
MIT
Texas A&M (Safety)
USC
Stanford
UPenn
Harvard
Duke
Southern Methodist University
Brown</p>

<p>Sorry for the long post, and thank you :)</p>

<p>I forgot to mention, as far as school clubs and EC's:</p>

<p>I founded the Reach Out Club (club to get students more involved in activism)
I have a black belt in Karate, and have spent a lot of time practicing/teaching. I was Texas Amateur Sport Karate State Champion in 2005 and 2006, having won 1st places in sparring and forms in 2005 and sparring and weapons in 2006. I will compete in the TASK State Championship again in November this year.
I am also Parliamentarian of NHS.</p>

<p>anyone, please?</p>

<p>I'm a bit unfamilier with your grading system, but I'll take a shot. I think you really have a chance pretty much anywhere with your EC's and background. Best of luck.</p>

<p>When I say slight reach, I mean your odds are probably between 20-50%...</p>

<p>Rice University (Early Decision)- Slight Reach
MIT- Reach (They seem to be more about numbers than EC's to me)
Texas A&M (Safety)- Safety
USC- Match/Slight Reach
Stanford- Slight Reach
UPenn- Slight Reach
Harvard- Slight Reach
Duke- Match/Slight Reach
Southern Methodist University- Safety
Brown- Slight Reach</p>

<p>Thanks for the reply, it definitely puts me at some ease.</p>
