Boston University (dream school, except REALLY expensive. yearly income is roughly 13k)
MIT
Franklin Olin College of Engineering
Purdue University
University of Texas at Austin
Rice University (I have a recommendation from Dr. West, a well respected professor at Rice, who has worked extensively in finding the cure for cancer!)

..So?

Boston University (dream school, except REALLY expensive. yearly income is roughly 13k) - high match
MIT - reach
Franklin Olin College of Engineering - reach (btw, Olin does not have full scholarships anymore; their scholarships now only cover half of the tuition)
Purdue University - match
University of Texas at Austin - match
Rice University (I have a recommendation from Dr. West, a well respected professor at Rice, who has worked extensively in finding the cure for cancer!) - match: urm status and good rec could carry you

Boston University - high match to low reach
MIT - high reach
Franklin Olin College of Engineering - N/A
University of Texas at Austin - match
Rice University - low match

What would really make your application stronger is a higher SAT score. With your URM status as well as a female engineer, a higher SAT score will carry MUCH more weight with you.

Except…MIT is very good about recruiting URMs. You may very well have a chance there. You are quite impressive stats-wise, so the other ones- well, I agree with the above statements. Just stand out on the application, and all of these colleges will be begging for your attention.

Thanks :D

So about my SATs, what score should I be reaching for?

Oh, wow…I forgot to check your SAT. You want at least a 2180 to be admitted. As an URM you can get away with 2050. Are you Questbridge eligible?
