taken 8 honors courses in high school

I think ur gonna get in if ur lucky..but most likely postpone. This yr, IU has like a billion applicants.

I'm sorry, but I think your GPA will prevent you from being accepted. I hope I am wrong.

my gpa is equivalent to an 87 out of 100

what you think your gpa is epuvalent to isnt what IU thinks it is. You have a low GPA so probably not. GPA is a HUGE factor.

Since we live in B-ton and lots of students here apply to IU, my D's high school includes the IU admission requirements in the course book. I believe it states that 3.0 is what IU likes to see. (sorry, she's not home, and I have no idea where the book is) Keep in mind this is for in state students. The 2007 class had an average of 3.5 with an average SAT of 1146. Your SAT would probably be okay, but IU tends to look at GPA (out of 4.0), rank, then SAT's. I would guess you're borderline.

I got in with a 2.86 in a lot of honors classes so you never know. I did however get a 26 on the ACT which is like a 1230 on the SAT.

Johnny, when you reply to people telling them you got in with your stats, please add that you're a minority. You stated that in one post and to leave it out in all of your posts is misleading the people who are asking what their chances are. It makes a HUGE difference.
