It's a little late to do anything else, but hey, I need a little encouragement after I've been deferred from my dream school. I've already applied to these, but I want to know how hopeful/hopeless I should be.

Cool sounding research, nice looking job too. But what the heck is with your 5.4 GPA? I've never heard of high schools giving more than 5 for a weighted A. Also, what program at UMDNJ did you graduate with honors from? Leave out middle school stuff in applications. Maybe talk about how it shaped your experiences in an interview or essay, but I wouldn't list it on resumes. For your BA/MD programs, I think it depends on the interview. I do think you have a good chance based on your stats, but so many of these programs and schools can be toss ups. Good luck!

sorry you were deferred! hope you have better luck with other stuff! (I think colleges look at deferred applicants with a more favorable view since it showed that the school is their first choice-- I know MIT does this)

did you have any hobbies? cuz those 3 honor societies are impressive, but also personality-robbing.

I think you have a solid chance at each of the programs you mention.
Just do well on your interviews at the combined med programs. The ones done at med school are not easy. Prepare well. Be on time, be courteous, make eye contact when answering questions.

The UMDNJ interview is much tougher than the one at TCNJ. Dr Shevlin at TCNJ is an extremely kind and easy person. Of all the interviews, my S liked Shevlin the most. But the UMDNJ one was with a much older MD at the med school. Prep well for this one. He mentioned that this was a very tough interview. But he got in. So I guess he did well.

jzboo,
Why did you choose hshsp instead of other programs?
It is very expensive. hshsp 2008 the fee is $2,950 + transportation (airfair from CA)?

Be prepared, but do not get discouraged by rejections / deferrals. Last year Case Western PPSP did not grant interviews to candidates with higher stats and tons of ECs. It was 800 applications for about 15 spots. It could be different this year. I have no knowledge of other programs. Admission often is not any reflection of your stats, ECs ..., all bs/md programs got very competitve and admission to them is somewhat a matter of luck. Wish you the best!
