GPA(weighted): around 3.86 Freshmen year, around 3.3 Sophomore year, 3.90 junior year
I missed a whole entire sophomore year due to personal illnesses and family obligations, and had to repeat. My counselor explained my circumstances very well in the rec. My soph year GPA dropped significantly due to a year of absence since I was just not mentally ready.

First generation college student, if you have other college choices that you want to recommend please let me know. thank you for the help

Your grades are a little low, but you have great SAT scores... I'd say that you have a good chance at all the schools, though less so at Columbia.

I think it's a low reach at Columbia. Everywhere else I think you are quite competitive. =]

Great SATs! Congrats!

Chance back?

Everywhere except Columbia is probably in

nice 2300 btw

I would say that both of these are high-match schools, so probably about 75-80 percent chance of admission.

Also, come chance me at Northwestern, JHU, Penn, Duke, Cornell, Rice, UMich, Georgetown, Washington University at St. Louis, University of Chicago, Emory, UC LA, UC Berkeley, Columbia, Cooper Union

Also, come chance me at Small-town junior looking for advice and chances on big-name schools Thanks!

Well, Columbia is a low reach b/c of your grades, but they were due to special circumstances and your counselor explained them well. You are in great shape for the other schools, and your other stats, such as SAT IIs and ECs, might just be enough to make up for them

Boston College- Match
Michigan- Probably in
NYU Stern- Low match
Carnegie Mellon- Low match/in
Columbia University- Mentioned above
Emory- Low match/in
Northwestern- Match
Vanderbilt- Match
Washington U in St Louis- High match b/c they've been weird as of late
Rutgers Pharmacy- In, unless it's like a super-competitive program that I'm not aware of

Chance me please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/621725-took-risk-blew-any-hope-left.html

in at BC, Michigan, CM, Emory, Rutgers...Vandy, WashU, and NW, Stern are matches....i think the only reach is columbia. you're in good shape...no worries

Chance me for Hamilton ED II...it's around the first page somewhere

well youre in at most of those schools, Northwestern, Vandy and Wash U are probably high matches because of your gpa and Columbia is a reach for everyone, but that SAT is phenomenal so you have a pretty decent chance anywhere

chance me back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

I think you are match/high match for most of those schools. Nice but i dont think your grades are quite at columbia level so im gonna say reach for columbia
