essays: pretty good

would you suggest EDII or would i still have a chance appying regular decision? someone on cc told me that most of my colleges are reaches. and this makes me very very nervous. (the other colleges i applied to are upenn, columbia, nyu, barnard and bc)

I think NYU is a target school for you, Vassar a target/reach, Columbia and UPenn are probably reaches because of SATs below 700, I think BC has gotten more competitive and I don't know what Barnard wants. I do think you need a safety or two. Any NY state schools interest you? Geneseo is excellent, private schools that are good and similar to Vassar are Skidmore, Bard and Conn College, although I don't think any of them would be safeties, expect possibly Skidmore.

My son had 2 financial safeties, and including those two, he had 4 academic safeties. Make sure you have them, and like them, too.

For Vassar, you rank and average are great, ECs seem awesome, I think you have a chance, but give yourself some safe schools.

i have u at buff, st johns and rutgers as my safeties. hopefully that's enough? i already got into rutgers but i do not know if i can pay for it.

Your grades and rank seem right on for Vassar, although your SATs are a bit low, Vassar has been known to overlook that if they feel you would "belong" at the school. If you really love Vassar and know you want to go there before Penn, Columbia, etc. then you should apply EDII, if not, definitely RD.
